Kindergarten 2012-2013 Registration Reminder
If you have a child who will be entering Kindergarten in September 2012, and are currently in our Pre-Kindergarten class, please bring 2 updated proofs of address to Roseanne (room 116) and fill out your Kindergarten application. 
For children who are new to PS 29, please bring 2 proofs of address, an original birth certificate or passport, and immunization record to Maureen in the main office to begin your application process.

Pre-Kindergarten 2012-2013 Registration
The Pre-Kindergarten application period will begin on March 5th and end April 6th.  Applications for Pre-Kindergarten must be submitted directly with the Department of Education (by mail or online) during these dates.  For more information about Pre-Kindergarten registration, please visit schools.nyc.gov

EMERGENCY KIDS CLUB POLICIES
Effective January 23, 2012
Emergency Kids Club (EKC) is available to PS29+ registered families as well as guest families. Coverage is offered in three different sessions:
Early Session (3:00 – 4:30pm)
Late Session (4:30 – 6:00pm)*
Both Sessions (3:00 – 6:00pm)
Registration
We encourage all families who plan to use Emergency Kids Club this term to register online and set up a family account.
• If you have not yet registered, visit ps29brooklyn.org/ps29plus and click Register Now.
• Choose Pre-register Only and proceed to the registration page.
• You will need to enter credit card or bank draft information, but you will not be charged until you
actually use Emergency Kids Club. There is no fee for Pre-registration.
Notification
• For advance notification (at least 24 hours in advance), email ps29plus@gmail.com with your child's
name and classroom and which sessions are needed. When possible, advance notification helps us
plan staffing and snacks, and ensures that the teacher knows that your child will be attending Kids
Club that day.
• For same day notification, you must call the main office 718-330-9277 before 2:45pm.
Fees
EKC fees for registered families will be posted and charged automatically each week based on
attendance, saving you (and us) time!
EKC fees for guest families are due at pick up and must be paid in cash (exact change only) or by
check (payable to PS29 PTA). Ms. Colon will provide a receipt for all payments. Guest fees are
slightly higher to cover the additional administrative expenses.

PS 29 Parent Recommended: Family Event at Cora Studio: Saturday, January 28 at 201 Richards St (Buzzer 15)
Join us for a day of performances and fun events for children and adults!  For instance, Photobucket Master storytellers Robin Bady and Shannon Hummel invite kids of all ages to settle in for of yummy baked treats and memorable stories passed down for generations; talented dancers of Cora Dance will be sharing a little of what they do; and Photobucket Danceable covers at Rocky Sullivans
Admission is by donation: $15 per event (or pay what you can) OR buy a weekend pass for $60 and come to everything!


Community Announcement: French Classes for Adults: Starts February 7th - at PS 58
Classes available at beginner (level 1 & 2), intermediate, and advanced levels.
Classes are taught by: Ria Aichour, a native French speaker from Paris, a French educator and camp director with over 10 years of teaching experience - and Val Berisha, also from Paris, with extensive experience teaching French as a second language.

Community Announcement: Big Movies for Little Kids 2012 Film Festival: Citywide Call for Submissions of Short Films
*Students 18 and younger enrolled in NYC are eligible
*A film less than 4 minutes long, appropriate for an audience of 2-10 year olds.  Films must be submitted in DVD format.  One film submission per student or group.
*Films chosen will be screened at Cobble Hill Cinemas at the season finale of Big Movies for Little Kids on June 4th, at 4pm & 3 grand-prize winnters will be selected by the children in the audience and will be screened at the Big Movies/Rooftop Films Drive-In Outdoor Movie Night in mid-June
*All DVD entries must be postmarked by May 15th - there is no entry fee.

If you have a child who will be entering Kindergarten next year, and are currently in our Pre-Kindergarten class, please bring 2 updated proofs of address to Roseann (room 116) and fill out your Kindergarten application. 
For children who are new to PS 29, please bring 2 proofs of address and an original birth certificate or passport to Maureen in the main office to begin your application process.

Pre-Kindergarten 2012-2013 Registration Update
The Department of Education has just announced the Pre-Kindergarten application period, which will begin on March 5th and end April 6th.  Applications for Pre-Kindergarten must be submitted through the Department of Education during these dates.
